国際デー

国際デー（こくさいデー、英: 国連英語版公式ページ上ではInternational Daysウィキペディア英語版ではinternational observanceもしくは international dedicationもしくはinternational anniversary、仏: Journée internationaleもしくはjournée mondiale）とは、国際機関によって定められた記念日で、毎年定められた日に、特定の事項に対して特に重点的問題解決を国連をはじめ全世界の団体・個人に呼びかけるための日である。

概要

ここで言う国際機関とは国連総会、国連経済社会理事会、ユネスコ、世界保健機関、国際電気通信連合、国際連合食糧農業機関、世界知的所有権機関、国際連合環境計画、国際海事機関、国際民間航空機関などである。中には、世界ダウン症の日の様に当初は世界ダウン症連合が2004年に制定し、その後に国連が2012年に国際デーとして追認した後追型の国際デーも存在する。なお国際連合が定めた日(10月24日)は、特に国連の日(en:United Nations Day)ともよばれ、その期間を国連週間(United Nations Week,10月20日〜26日)ともいう。

国連デーを含む国際デーには、世界各地で記念行事が行われる。
