仏教用語(ち、痴)は、パーリ語およびサンスクリット語のMoha(モハ)に由来する、苦痛や毒を示す概念であり、「妄想、混乱、鈍さ」を指す。[1][2][3]。時には無明(Avidyā )と同義である[1]。別名を愚癡(ぐち、愚痴)、我癡、また無明ともいう。

癡は(ラガ、貪欲、官能への愛着)、(しん,自己愛憤怒)と共に、不毛なタンハー(渇望)につながる要素(三毒、三不善根)だとされて、それは生命の輪である十二因縁の一部となっている[1][4]。そのシンボルはであり、チベットの六道仏画では中心に描かれている[5]
